Ok, found another mmo to sort of play around with.. Don’t really know if I like it or not. It’s called Forsaken World from the same folks that put out Perfect World… Seems interesting and it’s a break from the affiliate marketing stuff… Yesh it takes an act of God to get on the first page of google. If any of you have any SEO tips to raise your google ranking, please please share lol… Well off to play my little Vampire on Forsaken World… Perhaps I can get an hour or two in without being ganked 10 times hahaha.

I can’t believe the amount of misinformation and crap out there on internet marketing and making money at home… I think saying that 99% of everything out there is nothing more than a scam.. *sigh*
That being said, I know that there are individual people who make a fair to excellent living working from home using nothing more than essentially the internet. We recently spent roughly 50 bucks on a program, then another 30 bucks on another… Asked for a refund that is taking about 2 weeks to process on the 30 dollar program.. It was more than just a total scam. This was back towards the beginning of February…. Since we have a really decent hosting plan, adding a domain is relatively cheap considering it includes all the bells and whistles (13 bucks).
Read everything I could find, looked through the one program we got, sat down and thought about it for a long time.. Spent another 78 bucks to register some 6 domains to the hosting account… Follow that famous advice “build it and they will come”… Really… right. 5 of the sites have done nada, and after studying the data, I believe that it was probably a good learning experience discovering why they are producing zero *sigh*. It’s not all bad news though. The 6th site has started to produce a profit
Got another week to go before it will be up for 30 days, but thus far it’s made $188 bucks…. Not bad considering this is a huge learning curve. That means that so far I’ve spent $128 getting it going and thus far it’s made $188 or a profit of $60 dollars… A bit better than breaking even
Like I said, it’s a learning process… I will likely take the $60 profit and attempt to duplicate the success of the one site… Obviously that site is not doing as well as I’d like it to (200 bucks a month is nothing to retire on), but hey, it’s pretty much hands free… Well, except for tweeking it to get a bit more out of it lol.
That’s the progress on my personal journey to work at home so far… I will continue to keep you posted, though I doubt anyone but me even reads this blog lolz.

Since I regularly review a lot of stuff I decided to give a bit of affiliate marketing a try. So far it has turned out to be negligible. There are folks out there making tens of thousands of dollars a month doing it, but obviously they are doing something that is different than what I’ve been able to accomplish to date. But hey, I refuse to give up. Not only because I really would like to be able to accomplish what everyone (including myself at this point) finds so hard, but because we could use the doe ray me.. With the government being what it is, social security is never a sure thing. I’ll keep you posted on how it goes…. Back to the drawing board.

Managed to get into the Rift Beta (the game is due for release on March 1).. Nice game. I think it has potential! I’ve been enjoying running around and learning some of ins and outs. Though Corleathal has done a lot more in it than I have.
Amazing that an old geezer like me plays computer games lol.
Found a pretty decent guide book for the Guardian (you know I love the tank characters ;p) so I’ll post the link here for you if you’re interested in checking it out.
Best Rift Guardian Guide Available
Well… Back to the beta game

Howdy ya’ll!
Well, lots of things changed at the end of 2010 and here into the beginning of 2011 in the ol’ fat guys household. We finally managed to get out of the apartments we were in. Man, did the apartment complex ever go down hill over the last couple years. They were small, built back in the mid ’70s with minimal updates, restrictive (couldn’t have a grill or bar-b-q *trust me this is an issue for an old guy from the South) and more and more like living somewhere South of the boarder. No privacy if you lived on the ground floor like we did and the fact that gang activity in the complex was on the rise… Nuff said. It was way past time we moved lol.
God was definitely listening to our prayers and we managed to buy a house, close at the end of October and Move in over the 1st week in November. I guess we can thank the horrible housing market for the opportunity to get a house that was actually within our budget. Took us from April to October to find it, but we love it so far! Yah, it’s a small place, but bigger than the apartments for sure. There just really isn’t any comparison to living in your own home vs. renting an apartment.. Ahhhh life is good again lol.
Along with getting all of our various belongings out of storage (Including the grill of course!) We’ve kept busy painting, cleaning out gutters, meeting new neighbors and setting up all the things that go with getting a new home and doing a major move. It will likely be at least another year before all the boxes that came from storage, tools and other stuff gets unpacked. No worries here though… Tis much easier to unpack a little sorting through it and putting it away here and there when you know you’ll be here for the next 20 years or so. (Well barring God’s unique sense of humor).
Since we pretty much spent most of what we had buying the house, preparing the house for us to live in and moving, Christmas was a bit slim for us this year. Nothing new about that for us, we’re used to getting by on little to nothing and being happy lol. With that in mind we wanted to get something that would be memorable and yet not break what was left of the piggy bank. Peanut our faithful Dachshund was thrilled with the backyard he’s never had before and at 8 years old it seemed to us that he really need to teach a new puppy the ropes and gain a playmate. So for our Christmas present we Saved a dog from the local Humane Society and gave him a home… Here’s a picture:
We found him on December 1st. He’s a mutt. Russel Terrier and Miniature Dachshund mix. He’s got lots of personallity and over the last couple of months has made him self a loved and valued member of the household. Peanut is still teaching him all the in and outs of the Oldfatman’s household but over all, we couldn’t have asked for a better dog. He’s already demonstrated that he’s a great guard dog, and is fearless for his small size.
Well, That’s it for now… I’ll tap the keys at you latter as things come up and I update this blog with current events in the Oldfatmans world
